(iv) The Institute also has Students Benevolent Fund which gives financial assistance to students who lose their earning members during their study with the Institute. So far the Institute has given financial assistance to the following students :-

Number of scholarships offered by the institute, duration and amount

SMIT offers 100 merit-cum-means scholarships: 50 Scholarships of Rs. 18,000 each to students joining B.Tech courses who have scored more than 80% marks (PCM) at 10+2 level; 50 scholarships of Rs. 10,000 each to students joining B.Tech courses and who have scored more than 75% marks (PCM) at 10+2 level. Students can apply for these scholarships if the annual income of their parents is less than 3 Lakhs per annum.

Criteria for fee scholarship.

For first year students: Rs. 18000/- and 10000/- each respectively for students
Obtaining more than 80% and more than 75% respectively, whose parents annual income does not exceed Rs. 3 lakhs per annum.
